FOXGLOVE INK
Akasha Buzov
OWNER/TATTOO ARTIST
Akasha has been making art in various mediums since early childhood. Her interests followed her into adulthood in forms of drawing, painting, sculpting, baking and jewelry making. Akasha graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in painting in 2016. Becoming a tattoo artist was a dream of Akasha’s since early adolescence and she uses her background in fine art to inform her work today. Akasha loves working both in full color and black and grey. She happily creates custom works including many subjects but is partial to flora, fauna, and all things nature inspired.
Caroline Martin
JUNIOR TATTOO ARTIST
Caroline dabbled in all kinds of art before being captured by the siren song of tattooing. She completed her BFA at UNC Greensboro and has worked as an illustrator, comics maker, community arts organizer, and graphic designer. Caroline has lived all over the US, most recently in Colorado, as a high school art teacher and muralist. Thankfully, she’s commuting back on the East Coast to Foxglove from weird and wonderful Durham. Caroline is here to tattoo all your cute lil guys, silly lil gals, and cheeky lil pals in an illustrative style that borrows techniques from many different tattooing traditions.
Derick Runtz
TATTOO APPRENTICE
Derick has been passionately pursuing art since a young age. He was inspired by the cartoons he grew up with and excelled in art throughout his early education. He started his professional art career with a degree in graphic design and various freelance work. After getting a few tattoos, he was convinced by his artist-turned-mentor, Akasha, to join the profession. He began his apprenticeship last year and has been learning everything he can about tattooing since. Derick is recently fully licensed and doing small, simple tattoos to hone his skills and build his portfolio.
